HISTORY:
Our chapter was chartered on May 20, 1967 with 37 members. Today, we still have one charter member with us, Rosalee Asbell. Our membership fluctuates between 30 – 40 members, depending on the strength of our industry.
Our chapter has included three (3) regional directors and two (2) national officers, one being the National President in 1997-98. One of our “claim to fame” activities was that we held the very first Skirts ‘n Dirt in NAWIC. Members actually got to operate and run various pieces of heavy earthmoving equipment. We meet annually with the Ventura County Contractors Association (VCCA) in May. At this meeting, we present our scholarships and other awards to local participating students. Normally, our meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month.
